What You Are Buying

Reverse Swear Jar sells access to fictional, AI-generated curse words. Each entry consists of an invented word along with a definition, etymology, example sentence, and — at higher tiers — usage scenarios. None of these words are real. None of the etymologies are real. None of the example sentences describe real events. The entire product is a novelty.

You are paying for entertainment. You are not paying for accurate linguistic information, dictionary-grade scholarship, or any form of factual content.

How the Content Is Generated

The content delivered through the Services is produced using large language models — artificial intelligence systems trained on text. Generated entries are reviewed by a human curator before being added to the pool of content available for purchase. We make reasonable efforts to filter out content that is offensive, slur-adjacent, or otherwise inappropriate before approval. We are not perfect at this. If you encounter content you believe was approved in error, please use the in-app flag mechanism to report it.

We do not generate content in real time at the moment of purchase. All content available for unlock has been generated and reviewed in advance.

What the Content Is Not

The content provided through the Services is not:

  • A real dictionary
  • An academic or linguistic resource
  • Factually accurate in any respect
  • Endorsed by any institution, person, or entity referenced in any etymology, example sentence, or usage scenario
  • Suitable for use in any setting requiring accurate or reliable language information

Etymologies frequently reference fictional places, historical periods, and source documents that do not exist. Example sentences may attribute statements or behaviors to fictional individuals. Any resemblance between content generated through the Services and any real person, organization, location, document, or event is coincidental and unintentional.

You Are Responsible for How You Use It

You are solely responsible for any use you make of content unlocked through the Services. Reverse Swear Jar does not endorse, recommend, or take responsibility for the deployment of any content in any specific context. In particular, we do not recommend using generated content:

  • In professional, academic, or legal settings where accurate language matters
  • As factual claims about etymology, linguistics, or history
  • To target, harass, defame, or otherwise harm any specific individual or group
  • In any context where you would be embarrassed to be quoted

The content is intended for personal entertainment. What you do with it after that is on you.

Filtering and Limitations

We maintain a filter intended to prevent the approval of content that is racist, slur-adjacent, sexually explicit, or otherwise unacceptable. This filter is imperfect. If you encounter content that you believe should not have been approved, please flag it through the user portal. Flagged content is reviewed and may result in removal, refund, or credit replacement at our discretion.

Generated content may also occasionally:

  • Reference fictional details that overlap with real things
  • Be unfunny

None of these outcomes are intentional, and none of them entitle you to a refund except as provided in our Refund Policy.
