Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how FT LLC, doing business as Reverse Swear Jar ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of our website at reverseswearjar.com and any related services (collectively, the "Services").
By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address provided when creating an account or requesting a magic login link.
- Communications: Records of your communications with us, including emails and support messages.
- Payment Information: Billing details and payment method information processed through our secure payment providers. We do not store full payment card numbers — this information is handled directly by our payment processors.
- Account Preferences: Settings related to your account, including whether you have opted in to public attribution on permalinked content you unlock.
- Leaderboard Profile: If you opt in to the public leaderboard, the display name and approximate location you choose to share. Display names must be unique. You may revoke leaderboard participation at any time.
- Voting and Engagement Activity: When you vote on, favorite, or flag content, we record the action along with associated metadata (such as a hashed IP address for anonymous votes) to operate the leaderboard, prevent abuse, and process content quality concerns.
- Waitlist Information: Email address provided when joining a waitlist for out-of-stock content.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device and Usage Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and interactions with our Services.
- Location Data: Approximate location based on IP address.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to recognize your browser, remember preferences, and analyze traffic patterns. This may include pixels from third-party advertising and analytics platforms such as Google and Meta, which may constitute "sharing" of personal data under certain state privacy laws. See Section 7 for your opt-out options.
- Bot and Abuse Detection: We use Cloudflare Turnstile and similar bot-detection technologies on certain forms (login, waitlist signup, and others) to distinguish humans from automated traffic. These services may collect technical signals from your browser and device to perform this analysis.
Information from Third Parties
- Information from payment processors regarding transaction status, fraud signals, and chargeback activity.
- Information from analytics and marketing providers regarding how users discover and engage with the Services.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our Services.
- Authenticate you via passwordless magic link login.
- Process transactions, deliver purchased credits, and unlock content associated with your account.
- Send you communications including transactional receipts, account notifications, and — where you have opted in — promotional offers and updates.
- Maintain a record of content you have unlocked so it remains accessible in your account portal.
- Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our Services.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, chargebacks, and technical issues.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information with:
- Payment Processors: We use Stripe to process payments. Your payment information is transmitted directly to and governed by Stripe. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
- Email Delivery Providers: We use SMTP2Go to deliver transactional and account-related emails. Contact information necessary to deliver these communications is shared with our email delivery provider.
- Infrastructure and Bot Protection: We use Cloudflare for content delivery, security, and bot protection (including Cloudflare Turnstile). Cloudflare may process technical request data to perform these functions.
- Analytics and Advertising Providers: We may share data with analytics and advertising platforms including Google and Meta to measure performance and deliver relevant marketing. This may include pixel-based tracking data.
- Service Providers: Third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, including hosting, infrastructure, and platform tooling, under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal and Safety: When required by law, legal process, or government request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- Debt Collection: If you have an outstanding balance with us that becomes delinquent, we reserve the right to share relevant account and contact information with a licensed debt collection agency or a wholly-owned subsidiary of FT LLC for collection purposes.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
4. Public Content and Attribution
When you unlock content through the Services, that content may be assigned a public permalink at a URL such as reverseswearjar.com/w/{slug}. The content of the unlocked entry itself is public-facing.
We do not associate your account email or personal identifiers with any public permalink unless you have explicitly opted in to public attribution in your account settings. If you opt in to the leaderboard, the display name and approximate location you choose to share will be visible publicly on leaderboard pages and may be shown alongside attributed content. You may revoke leaderboard participation or public attribution at any time, after which any visible attribution on existing permalinks and leaderboard entries will be removed within a reasonable period.
5. Communications
By providing your email address and using our Services, you consent to receiving transactional communications from Reverse Swear Jar, including:
- Magic login links
- Purchase receipts and credit balance notifications
- Account and security alerts
- Service announcements
- Waitlist notifications, where you have signed up for one
You may also opt in to receive promotional communications. You may opt out of promotional communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in the message or by contacting us directly. Opting out of promotional messages will not affect transactional or service-related communications.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption (AES-256), secure socket layer (SSL/TLS) technology, and access controls to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
- Request portability of your data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Opt out of marketing communications
- Request deletion of your account
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 11.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:
- Right to Know: You may request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the business purposes for which it was collected, and the categories of third parties with whom it was shared.
- Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: We may share personal data with advertising platforms in ways that constitute a "sale" or "share" under California law. You have the right to opt out of this. To opt out, contact us at the email address listed in Section 11. We are currently implementing a cookie consent manager to provide an automated opt-out mechanism — until that is available, please use the contact method below.
- Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
To submit a CCPA request, contact us at the information provided in Section 11. We will respond within 45 days as required by law.

8. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately.
9. Third-Party Links and Services
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through our platform. Reverse Swear Jar's privacy policy applies only to information collected through our own Services.
10. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes (including refund and chargeback disputes governed by our Refund Policy), and enforce our agreements. Financial and tax records may be retained for up to seven (7) years as required by law. When your information is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the Effective Date above. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide additional notice via email or platform notification.
